Stucco & Painting in Simla
Fox Coatings and Exteriors covers Simla, out on the high plains of Elbert County at roughly 6,050 feet. Wind, hail, and hard sun run the show here. We do stucco repair, house painting, roof coating, and deck work, with free written estimates.
Exterior work in Simla, Colorado
Simla sits on US 24 in eastern Elbert County with nothing upwind of it. That open fetch means grit-loaded wind hits west and south elevations for months, and it sandblasts film off siding and stucco long before the coating would fail on its own. Most of the housing stock here is early-1900s frame farmhouses and mid-century ranches, so house painting is the workhorse.
Eastern Colorado is hail country, and Simla is in the middle of it. Hail bruises stucco, chips paint down to substrate, and opens the exact pinholes that let water behind a wall. We chase those out during stucco repair, patch to a matched texture, then recoat with stucco painting. On metal and low-slope roofs over shops and outbuildings, roof coating seals seams and fastener heads.
The other Simla problem is the daily temperature swing. Forty-degree spreads between afternoon and dawn are normal out here, and that movement works joints, trim, and caulk lines loose. We plan application windows around surface temperature, not air temperature, so the film actually forms. Deck painting and staining follow the same rule, since bare wood dries out fast in air this dry.
