A new name on familiar ground.

Fox Coatings & Exteriors runs stucco, paint, decks and roof coatings across Colorado Springs and the Front Range. Here is how we work and why it is set up this way.

Why the work is specified, not just quoted

Most exterior failures on the Front Range are not mysteries. Stucco cracks at the corners of windows and doors because the building moved. Paint chalks because the pigment took years of high-altitude UV. Decks go grey because sunlight breaks down lignin in the top layer of the wood. Roofs split at the seams because the material expands and contracts through a forty-degree day.

Each of those has a specific fix, and the fixes are not interchangeable. That is why we walk the property before we put a number on it. If a contractor quotes your stucco without looking at where the water is getting in, you are buying a patch that will telegraph through in a year.

What you get in writing

Every estimate is written and itemized: which surfaces, what prep, which product and sheen, how many coats, and the price. You should be able to hand that document to another contractor and get a real comparison. If a line item is not on there, it is not in the job, and that is the point of writing it down.

  • Surfaces and square footage included in the scope
  • Prep sequence, including anything that has to be repaired first
  • Product, system and sheen by surface
  • Number of coats, at manufacturer spread rate
  • What is excluded, so there are no mid-job surprises

Why we schedule around the weather

Coatings have temperature and dew-point windows, and Colorado does not respect them. Apply an exterior product too cold, too hot, or into an afternoon storm and it will not form a proper film, no matter how good the product is. We would rather move a day than hand you a finish that fails in the spring. That is also why cure time between coats is not something we compress to finish early.

Where we work

We are based in Colorado Springs and run a route that reaches Castle Rock and Larkspur to the north, Pueblo and Canon City to the south, Woodland Park and Divide to the west, and out onto the plains to the east. Full list on the service areas page. If your town is not on it, call and ask, because the route moves with the work.

Front Range Spec Prep and coating systems selected for altitude, exposure, and the failure we actually found.
